Talkie Spam Blocker — Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026. Published by Talkie Communications ("we", "us").
Short version: the app works on your phone. Your contacts, call log and settings stay
on your phone. We do not run a server that collects your data, and the app has no ads and no analytics.
What the app does
Talkie Spam Blocker is a call-screening app. When a call comes in, Android asks the app whether to ring, silence,
or block it. The app decides using your own rules (blocked area codes, numbers you marked as spam) and public
spam-complaint lists, and it never blocks a number saved in your contacts.
Information the app uses, and where it goes
- Contacts. The app checks whether an incoming number is one of your saved contacts, so contacts
are never blocked. This check happens on your phone. Your contacts are never uploaded or sent to us.
- Incoming call numbers and your call log. The app records the calls it screens (number, time,
what it did and why) in a file on your phone so you can review them. This history never leaves your phone unless
you choose to copy or share it yourself. You can clear it at any time from the Call Log screen.
- Your settings and spam list. Stored on your phone only.
- Public spam lists. The app downloads U.S. government complaint data from the Federal Trade
Commission (ftc.gov) and the Federal Communications Commission (opendata.fcc.gov). These downloads are plain
requests for public files. They do not include your phone number, contacts or call history.
- Diagnostic report. The Help screen can build a text report of your settings and recent screened
calls. It is only created when you tap the button, and it goes nowhere unless you copy or share it yourself.
Permissions, and why
- Call screening role — lets Android hand incoming calls to the app to allow, silence or block.
- Contacts — so saved contacts are never blocked.
- Phone numbers / phone state — optional; fills in your own number for a "neighbor spoof" check and
lets the caller-ID pop-up close when a call ends.
- Answer phone calls — only for the optional "pick up and hang up" action.
- Display over other apps — optional; shows the caller-ID card while a call rings.
- Notifications, foreground service, run at startup — shows the small shield icon that tells you
screening is running, and restores it after a restart.
- Internet — to download the public spam lists and, if enabled, the optional lookup above.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your personal information.
- We do not show ads or use analytics or tracking.
- We do not upload your contacts or call history.
- We cannot see which calls you block or allow.
Keeping and deleting your data
Everything above is stored on your phone. Uninstalling the app removes it. You can also clear the call history from
inside the app.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change.
